Kattfjoreidet on Kvaløya, about 30 minutes from Tromsø.

Autumn is turning into winter. A light layer of snow lies on the heather and the Kattfjord lake is covered in ice. The few degrees of heat in the air were not enough to keep drawing fingers warm, but a good cup of tea in an enamel mug is always a lifesaver when drawing outside.

Not a human being to be seen. Just the sound of my own breathing and Ylva digging in the heather. The picture here captures the "silence" that is always found in the mountains.
